I am looking for references or recommendations for a small calendar/collaborating software.
Current situation is SME v7.1 up to date with contribs for Openvpn and dar2 backup up. I also have Moinmoin wiki running in an ibay.
I have seen and tried to review groupoffice, egroupware and Horde 3.1.x RPM's. It is difficult to evaluate them all so I would like a shared address book, email both in office and out (currently using Horde), shared and common calendars. Anything else would be a bonus.
Am currently using T'bird as email but could use other, but not Outlook
I follow directions well but will have trouble writing any kind of scripts or customizing anything. So ease of installation and stability is important (isn't it always).
Thx for any help you can lend.

I'm looking for something similar. Haven't found a good fit yet.
What specific features/capabilities are important to you? When you talk about 'shared' (calendars etc.) how many users are you expecting to share with?
Some of these packages seem like overkill for what I need. But on the other hand, if I get exposed to a new capability that's readily available I might find it useful.

p.s. imcintyre, please check my profile and send me an email off-list.

At the moment I have 4 users, this is mainly a hobby. It all started during an argument about homework..... and snowballed from there.
We also have sme v6 at work so I had a bit of background.
I will probably try out the horde first to see what is up with that.

Thx for your interest, I will let you know how it goes.

If you're not opposed to using webmail, then the horde apps and horde add-on apps will do what you want. In Kronolith - calendar - you can have your main calendar, and create shared calendars. I use a shared calendar at home to track my boys' activities. For Turba - address book, as soon as 7.1.1 hits the street, you can create shared address books, by doing [config setprop horde SharedAddressBooks enabled ; signal-event email-update]. In nag - tasks, you can created shared task lists, and in mnemo - notes, shared notepads. If you use trean - bookmark manager, shared bookmarks.

John;
Thx. You may have noticed, I have been querying your Horde Announcement post re proper installation order etc.

Choice really depends on specific requirements, but if you want a all in one solution then egroupware is good.
There is a howto for installing on sme that is reasonably easy to follow, just proceed carefully & slowly. It works OK and has what you are asking for & appears to be well supported.
You can install it and play with it without affecting other aspects of your server.

Ray;
Thx for the suggestion. I am working with Horde and it appears to have a lot of what I need for my home application, for work though I am not so sure.

Ray;
I've been using Horde for a couple of weeks as per http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=34191.0
I wanted to try egroupware. Do you know if the two can coexist on the same server? I suspect not, but it is a hassle to uninstall.
Thx for any help or if you can push me in the right direction.

I use Webmail & email clients that access via IMAP & the email clients in egroupware which use IMAP, all coexist OK.

Thx, I will give it a try and let you know.
