Title: CNAME_lookup_failed_temporarily - will mails be resent?
Post by: drfresh on March 06, 2007, 08:58:36 PM
I have a problem that my SME-server sometimes looses its ability to lookup e.g. google.com (don't know what you call it) - and now I discover that mails I have tried to send during that time is not send.

When I check the maillog (sentmail style) I see alot of lines like this:

Code: [Select]
1173204720.541990500 qp 11924: to=remote.someone@domain.com, uid=453, ddelay=14420.628250, xdelay=20.003701, stat=Deferred (CNAME_lookup_failed_temporarily._(#4.4.3)/)

This mail probably wasn't delivered at the time it was sent, but will the mailserver sent it later when it can? Or are these emails forever lost?

Thanks!
