Title: NTP Services
Post by: Bruce on February 28, 2002, 04:04:26 PM
After establishing an NTP relationship on my server, is it possible to have my workstations set their time to the SME server?  I currently have software that goes out to an NTP server, but being able to set all the clocks on the LAN would be much more responsive.

You sure can. Under settings, date and time you should see internet time.Just set that to your server and update.

Jon,

To what kind of workstation do you refer here ? W98SE doesn't have it. (and a lot more, ok, you win :-)

Confucius,

It doesn't matter.  There are 3rd party software that has been in use for years.  Some of us have been in the industry for a LONG time, and know such things.  If you wish to play the wise elder, get smarter first.

Jon,

Since most systems require that you use a different port, is that true for the SME server?  That's the part that wasn't clear in the documentation.

Yes.

Put:

net time "servername" /set /yes

in your netlogon.bat file.
