I notice that SME Documentation is using MediaWiki.
Has anyone succeeded in getting MediaWiki installed on the SME Server? If so, is there a how-to available?
Thanks.

You will at least have to upgrade PHP on SME server which is currently running 4.3.9 if I remember correctly. Mediawiki requires php 5.0 or later as of version 1.7, you can install an older version that is PHP compatible though. There is a howto on this forum for upgrading PHP to version 5 in combination with MySQL 5 I believe, the latter is not required as MediaWiki should run on Mysql 4, which is supplied with SME Server.

I have 1.6.10 running on SME 7.1.2

Very easy install.

MediaWiki are in some centos repos. Which is why it's very easy.
Personally, I would wait till the next version of sme/centos is released -which should be shortly. Centos 5 is already in beta version and sme will follow shortly. This has php5 among other upgrades. this will allow the most recent versions of mediawiki to be installed easily.

I love your How-to on your site  You summed it up very nicely :)
Thanks for pointing out 1.6.10, I was thinking that I was going to have to set it up on a different server.

I was being a smartarse with that.
I didn't use a rpm but installation is just like most web apps that go into /opt .
