The new mediawiki looks good, but can somebody point me to the old wiki please? It contains massive amounts of information, and took many many valuable hours from many contributers. Just wonder where this effort and resource has gone...? Did I miss any announcement,? if so, I apologize.
Thanks,

To the new wiki you just have to search a little.

Shad, can you export each page in static html format and publish again? Then we migrate completely to new wiki, and finally you can delete all static pages of the old wiki.
Thanks

I don't have time or ability to export all the pages. If someone wants me to send them the zipped directory of the old wiki so they can export and migrate send an email to admin@contribs.org

I have a copy of the old wiki too. I'll get phpwiki running on my server here and convert it to html. Shad, what was that wget command you used on smolt?

Greg, I have a copy too. Shad have send me a copy of the old wiki, but I trying several times, but I can`t runing phpwiki in my test server 7.2.
Also I have download the last phpwiki version and I can't install this wiki. I have a problem with "gdbm" support.
Why use gdbm? Because the old wiki contribs.org use this schema.
Can you explain me or give me some directions for install phpwiki?
During the last 5 years I have install and configuring several sites in PHP, Perl, ROR, compiling some drivers, etc. but phpwiki has won to me!

Sure, but I've done it already ;-) What I did was install the latest version of phpwiki, use the new default, which is 'db4' instead of 'gdbm', and just imported the /oldpages directory - that is a dump from when we cut off write access.
Once I had the pages imported, I exported the whole think to html and did a few search and replaces to fix the old http://contribs.org links and it is here now:
http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/gswallow/old_wiki/
But it is there just so people editing the new wiki can find and copy over the information they need from the old wiki. I don't want paople linking to pages there.

Than you very much Greg. :pint:
I have install the last phpwiki version, and then import oldpages dir, and run perfect.
I have uploaded too for contrib with bandwidth, at http://www.unixlan.com.ar/phpwiki
In the nexte days I have review old wiki and deleted all obsoletes pages, and migrate the up to day pages to the new wiki.
-
For those of you who want to have the old wiki in your computers and browse offline, I have packed.
You can download from http://www.unixlan.com.ar/phpwiki/phpwiki.tar.gz
Then unpack and open with any internet browser the file index.html.
This package is the plain html export from the old wiki, plus a "MonoBook" theme for better experience 8-)

I tried to find your old High Availability howto, but every link I find is broken, & I did search a good bit. Your old star contrib area is gone and so is star-support.com.
Do you have a current link to the howto that works or suggest where to get it form.
Thanks
Ray

Hi,
yeah, somehow my contrib area was not converted to the new server... I'll try to find an old copy somehow.

It's outdated, but the basics are still the same and all used components are still around, but in a later version ofcourse.
TIP: http://www.archive.org will dig up archived website at various dates.
