Title: problem with login and password

Hello, I have just installed SME Server for the first time. The installation walked well and after the configuration of password, login and the network services, I validated the changes. The problem arrives when it puts me the login that I had given as follows:
 login test: I give the login.
 password: I tappe the password but no stars of password and at the end says to me that the login is incorrect.
If somebody has a solution, I thank him beforehand.

Their will be no stars when you type your password. You just have to make sure that you type your password correct and then press enter...

mais j'ai même écrit le mot de passe pour le tapper sans erreur et je l'ai fait plusieur fois mais sans succès.
Je vais encore voir si ça va marcher.

but I even wrote the password for the tapper without error and I made him plusieurtime but unsuccessfully.

Could you please keep it in english or move to the french part of the forum.

Login with root and then enter password (you won't see any stars, etc. as in windows).
Keep in mind that you had to enter one capital letter and one symbol. The password is case sensitive.

Thank you, I have just reinstalled him to see if that is going to work. But the problem persists while I had even written on paper the password and the login not to make a mistake. I do not know now what to make.

Are you entering you password directly in the box or are you trying to access it from wan?

Did you check that you don't have the Caps Lock ok and did you enter numbers with the ones form the top not the keypad.

Did you enter exactly (Caps, smallcaps, spaces, numbers, simbols).
This is all important and you can get it wrong really fast.

What language are you using (mind that keyboards have different simbols)?

Try and set a simple password and change it afterwards (eg: Abc123!)

And post it as a bug if it still doesn't work.

Edit: Lol. I see that you have solved your problem.  :D

That's one think that you didn't tell us (what you get when you enter password) and the last thing i would think off.

No you can do it from wan or lan. I suggest that you read the SME user manual.

Some characters cannot be used in the root/admin password when installing SME.

I once tried to install using a password that contained either an exclamation mark ("!") or an ampersand ("&") (I forget which) - the install worked fine, but I could never login.

He wanted to change user password.
And he solved the password problem...  well it wasn't a problem.
Check the bug report and you'll get it.  :D
