Title: sme7admin contrib
Post by: p-jones on March 28, 2007, 09:46:44 AM
After updating to 7.1.3 I am unable to view graphs generated by this contrib. No matter what interval I select, the graph is the same. This is duplicated on three machines.

Anyone else come across this ?and found a fix ?

Well i have a problem with empty graphs. But i don't use sme7admin so much so i don't know why or when it happened.

Do you actually see the graph or is it empty?

No problem here with sme7admin on 7.1.3 (= no difference to 7.1.2) but that is the only one server that we have on that version yet.

I'm having no problems either.  What versions are you running?

What do you think?  :D

You've asked if anyone has a problem. Well i do but i don't care so i'll just delete it. I have noticed that it doesn't work when i read your post and i found out that i use sistem information contrib a lot more so it won't kill me if i delete this one.
I suggest that you post to the bugtracker. And did you try removing and reinstalling.

Did the server manager itself start? When I reboot the server manager sometimes does not start up --> empty graphs...

On the first page of the server manager you can scroll down to see if the sm is running.

Marcel

You're correct. sme7admind is disabled. I have enabled it and we'll see if it works.

I had some problems too, after updating from 7.1 to 7.1.2, it crashed a couple of times, some mysql errors or something related to downgrading hddtemp I think. Haven't looked into it, it seems to bee stable now, and realy usefull. Since this upgrade I had problems with graphs not updating when changing time-scope and pressing go. But after refreshing the page, F5 + Retry, the new graphs show up. Same thing since going to 7.1.3.

I dont really know what to think - you have empty graphs but you also have it disabled and you dont use it so it might mean the answer to the question 'is it working" is really "I dont know". That answer doesnt really help me to determine whether I need to look closely at something in my  system that has gone wrong or go to the bug tracker because the 7.1.3 update is breaking it.

This was the comand I found ages ago about SME7admin when it doesn't display graphs.

I had the same problem when I upgraded as well.

Code: [Select]

rm -f /var/run/sme7admin.pid

service sme7admind restart

Run that and all should be fine again.

Tib

Yes. I had sme7admin stoped and when i clicked on start i got a message to run what Tib wrote. And it's working now. So the graph problem was that sme7admin service didn't start like it should.

You guys are all talking about a stopped sme7admind. Now you got it going, go back and look at your graphs - one hour, six hours, one week.

Do they change ??  I bet not......

Mine runs fine after I ran the code

Code: [Select]

rm -f /var/run/sme7admin.pid

service sme7admind restart

I did stuff up the test server one buy doing a restore of the whole system ... all I did there is uninstall sme7admin and then re-install it

Code: [Select]

rpm -e smeserver-sme7admin

Code: [Select]

 yum --enablerepo=smedev install smeserver-sme7admin

After re-installation all runs fine.

Tib

I have done all those thing, and re done them, and done a clean install. End result is still the same. I can only see the data in the window presented and cannot zoom in or out of that windows using the commands.....

Install those rpms. Checkout the installation howto on the authors site.

OK - I found an [announce] thread for the sme7admin contrib which has a reference for authors documentation

Thread:
http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=30730.0

It says:
http://sme.firewall-services.com/ => sme7admin link

The info I was missing is here:
