				Okay...This has probably been asked 1000 times, but I can't seem to find my answer by searching.

 How do you use LDAP Authentication with SME 7?

 ::: My Situation :::

 I have a new Inventory Management Software I've been testing.  Incorporated into this software, there is a Trouble Ticket system, that I would like to use LDAP to authenticate logins.  I can successfully authenticate to a SME 7 box, using IMAP, but not LDAP.  In the very near future, I will be using another piece of software that will need LDAP; it cannot use IMAP to authenticate.

 The inventory software resides on another server, but the new software will be on the SME 7 server.

				As far as I know it's not possible at the moment to use LDAP for authentication with SME7.

 Thanks, skydivers.   That's not really what I wanted to hear.  :(
 Does anyone have a technical reason for this?

				Any ideas?

 Funding would probably do the trick.  Charlie Brady has an open NFR - http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1543 - Use ldap for user account information and authentication - that would need some more work and motivation.
