Title: Wierd problem
Post by: TomT on April 13, 2007, 11:03:38 AM
I've got a bit of a wierd problem and I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed the same thing.

I keep losing connection on my external interface (static ip address). If I reboot the machine the connection comes up and I can ping the gateway, but it only lasts around 1 - 2 hours before I have to do it again. Restarting the network service does no good either.

I've replaced all the hardware, done fresh installs and replaced all media converters - still no luck.

I'm think that it could be a virus on one of the client machines that keeps spamming traffic? If I take a look at the logs there's a constant stream of traffic but nothing out of the ordinary. (clients abuse the net a lot)

Any ideas?

Umm did you contact your ISP because it could be faulty modem or they could have problems with their line.

My server was losing connection all the time and i checked the whole server and then i found out that it was another ISP that was puting some sort of protection on my IPS's line and that caused my problems.

They got it fixed after some serious lawsuits and a lot of time.
