Title: Web Access

Hi,  I'm using SME 7.1.3 in server only mode.  All installed, set-up and working fine.  However I can populate the primary website remotely using an FTP tool called Terrapin.  This allows me to access the home directory of the 'ftpuser' I had previously created and then backup the folder hierarchy to domain name level. Once here I can then go down the structure where I can then see the Ibays and Primary folders.  The problem is that an outside user cant get direct access to the Primary folder at Ibay level when using a product like Dreamweaver.  Does anyone know how I can give access direct into the primary folder or Ibay without giving out admin privileges to third party web designers.

IF you create folders in primary/html, for example primary/html/developer1,
you can change the permissions on the developer1 folder.

Then , create a link in the public area that points to the developer1 folder!

Takes some poking around with recursive permissions on the folders and links, but is doable.

Thanx Mike. I was hoping there might be an easier way.  Not keen on poking around at command level.

download WNScp  , it gives a mouseable remote access to poke and prod, with a tiny terminal screen to enter the ln command

may be easier to use than ftp as well, since you can copy and change permissions with the same tool
