Hey Guys!
I'm pretty new to SME server but it seems to it's the distribution to use! But what i would like to know. Does anybody know if its possible to make a gateway server with the the card connected to the WAN can be a wireless card. This since i am in a situation where i can only access a network wireless and don't have a fixed line like (a)dsl,Cable or ethernet availible. Unless somebody knows something else......
Thanks, Erik

Go with a dual ethernet setup and use an access point.

Thanks for the reaction!
But since i'm a cheap bastard.....is there any way i can get it right away to work with my Wireless PCI card?
Thanks again for you reaction.

You will end up expending alot of time and effort on this for something that may not work well. How valuable is your time?

Furthermore you will not have encryption functionality and so on, which should be used to prevent unwanted users from joining/listening in.
Easiest method is to just ad a router with wireless capabilities to the second NIC and configure it as an access point.

Furthermore,
Wireless technology is still flakey - there are many drop-outs and renegotiations (often we don't notice them) which will have a significant effect on your throughput.
In other word - don't.
Or do it for the mental exercise, then replace it with a wired connection.

Hey!
Thanks for all the reactions. I found a way in the middle by using PClinuOS (version before 2007). This is very easy to use and i can use my wireless card. Thanks for all the help! I've set it all up and running (encrypted) in one hour :-).
