Hi Iam,

Would suggest you to take a look onto :
ftp://81.149.154.14/AdminGuidePDF/V2R1UserGuideIss4.pdf

Quote
Temporarily disabling voicemail
You can temporarily disable voicemail by setting an infinite ring delay on your phone. To do this lift the receiver
and press *26* (see *26* − "ring delay" in the keypad tables for more details). To return your phone to its default
10 second ring−delay; lift the receiver and press *26*10.

Best,

Herve

Hi hervep!

Thank you for answer.

This could solve the problem temproraly.

But I was looking for a solution to make it administratively, to not to go to this phone personaly and without possibility to switch VM box on by enduser.

Hi

There is no other way than the one which Herve explained.  Tell us why its valuable and we'll put it onto the build list.

Kind Regards

Hello selintra!

Thank you for your answer.

So about the reasons...

As I said the solution that Herve suggested is user based ... this means that it could controlled by enduser also ...

So this maens if I'll switch off VM on a particular extention it could be switched on by anybody else and I will not know about that.

And I whant to be sure that if I (as admin) restricted some featuires it is rocksolid.

For example ... handset could be installed in public place ... it will be used by different people .... Such an extention do not need VM

Another example ...  Operators extention ... I do not whant  incoming calls to be redirected to VM if nobody picks the phone up ... I need it only for internal use ...

So I think the reasons could be different ...

Sincerely

Did anyone come up with a way to disable voicemail administratively for a particular extension?

I tried removing the "mailbox=" line as well as setting it blank.

Just checking...

HI there

Hope you are well.  I never got 'round to doing this but I don't think it's too hard.  I'll take another look at it.

Kind Regards

Hi again,

We've put a voicemail ON/OFF switch into extensions in sail-2.2.1-579/580.  This should be available for download in the next few days.

Kind Regards

Great!  ...and thanks much!

It looks like I'll have to try 2.2 again.  ;-)

The new release also runs with Asterisk 1.2 so you don't have to update asterisk if you don't want to yet.

Hi Selintra,
Can I update my 2.1.14-529 to sail-2.2.1-579/580? If so what's the best way to do it? I am running sme-asterisk.i686 2.2.24-4
Thanks,
Del

Hi Del,

Yes you can.  We'll put up a little howto onto the docs site in the next few days.  It isn't hard tho'.  Our main office switch is running 2.2.1-581 over asterisk 1.2 Bristuff and its fine.

Best
