Title: PHP Update - Blade Failure - Manual update failure
Post by: Ille DuPre on March 10, 2002, 04:56:01 PM
I went to :

ftp://ftp.e-smith.org/pub/e-smith/updates/5.1.2/Update1

Copied the RPMS to tmp folder on my server

I have tried installing these RPMS manually...I get the following error:

error: failed dependencies:
libmn.so.11 is needed by php-4.0.6-7es4
php = 4.0.4pl1-9 is needed by php-manual-4.0.4pli-9

I am running SME v5 and the error happens when I run the following command:

rpm -Uvh *.rpm

All 8 RPMS have been copied to my tmp directory.

Any help with this is appreciated.

v5.?   is it 5.0 or 5.1.1 or 5.1.2, because each has a little different process for the patch. there are some dependancies that have to be matched for the patch to install correctly.

hope this helps,
mike

Look for your dependencies at rpmfind.net...
Helps me lot of times if I update (or install) those first! But you have be carefull: I update an of the dependecies once, and it resulted in a unusable system and I needed to reinstall completely!

I copied all 8 files to a new folder I created in the admin home directory. These were the only files there.
Then did rpm -Uvh *.rpm and it worked.  I did it from win2000 box and then opened
my home folder on the e-smith box and paste it there. I then went back to my e-smith box and ran rpm -Uvh *.rpm. It worked for me.
Good Luck,
Jehu.

I had the same issue.
Uninstall php-manual before applying the update.
