Hi. This is the qmail-send program at xxx.local.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<xxx@hotmail.com>:
Connected to 65.54.244.72 but sender was rejected.
Remote host said: 550 Your e-mail was rejected for policy reasons on this gateway. ANY blacklist entries are too many!

I recently couldn't send mail from SME7 to phone company addresses because the cable internet provider was blocking the delivery ONLY to the phone company addresses!  Finally had to use the cable internet mail server instead of SME and all was "well" , except that the messages took twice as long to arrive!

I had quite a simular problem. Mails send to hotmail were queried and not delivered. Contacted hotmail but that's not an option, you get nowhere with them.

So I changed my smtp server in the server-manager to the one of my ISP -> mails are delivered at hotmail.

Good luck!

sorry, I can't seem to find where to enter my smtp server.

The otherthink i noticed is that i am sending from xxxdomain.co.uk but in the failure notice it is saying xxxdomain.local would that make a difference?

Thanks

In server-manager EMAIL panel, set Address of Internet provider's mail server = smtp.yourisp.com

lol, sorry it, that was pretty obvious. Unfortunatly it did not work. I only put mail.mydomain.co.uk in there, I didn't put username or password because it changes depending on what email address it is.

Thanks

Depending on the smtp server of your ISP you need to provide a username and password (smtp authentication).

Probably you just have to fill in the name of the smtp server and no authentication.

Normally this just has to work.

IF your IP was blacklisted, changing the SMTP server won't save you. I suggested trying a different SMTP server because you said only hotmail was blocked.
My blacklist experience is that it starts as one or two domains being blocked, and gets worse until the problem is fixed, and then takes up to a week as the blocked domains gradually begin to accept your mail.

Single blocked domains are mostly related to a DNS server somewhere not handling your mail, thus the attempt to redirect via different servers.

Did you resolve the  other STMP login issues?

Also, can you connect the SME server somewhere else so it gets a different ip   address, or direct connect an XP machine at the current IP and see if it is OK with Hotmail?

Hi,

I dont know it is only hotmail because it is being blocked from other companies that we work with quite alot.

When you say resolve the other smtp issues what do you mean exactly?

And how do you want me to test it, i dont quite understand what you mean?

Thanks
