Title: how to get descriptions of current working contribs
Post by: mike_mattos on June 03, 2007, 09:55:20 PM
I was just looking for a contrib, and stumbled into

http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/

there seem many contribs there than are not listed at contribs.org, and no easy way to search them.

I'm probably missing something totally obvious, perhaps not, but how does one learn for example what scuttle or sme.mailsorting are and if they solve a problem I may need to resolve?

thx mike

Well as the old saying goes.... You'll know what to do with it if you need it.
 :D
You start by reading the forum (or using the search function) and looking for contribs or announce threads. Some of this software (if not all) is available trough repos (most of it in testing) or on www.contribs.org/contribs (same content only shorter link). So if you need something dig trough the forum. The contribs wiki is not well documented but they are only a few people maintaining it.

These are the old contributor work areas. Some may still be active, but knowing whether they are current or not may be difficult.

Eg. My password expired and I haven't been able to update for a while. All my current stuff is in smedev & documented on wiki.contribs.org.
