Title: Configuring squid with 2 interent connections
Post by: bjoyce on June 06, 2007, 03:10:50 AM
Hi,

I have a problem with 2 ADSL internet connections and wanting to use both for internet access.  I have 2 SME 7.3 servers, one on each connection.

I thought the solution to this may be parent, child proxy settings and the forums for this and found this thread http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=31002.0
which allowed me to redirect one proxy to the other and it works but how do I change back?

What would be better is if the proxy's could tell which is the faster and use each other but I don't know how to configure it that way.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards Brad

Hi

I sort of have the same problem but on 1 server, I have two internet connections. setup as follows...

eth2 - Permanent Internet connection whcih has a static IP address
eth1 - connected to an dialup ADSL account (for our backups)
eht0 - Internal Network Card for the local network

Now I want the system to work as follows, when the primary connection on eht2 goes down, the ADSL must connect and the users can go out on the connection, what would I do to get this to function??

Regards

SHawn

Hey guys,
I'm looking for the exact same solution.
I just got a 3 month free trial ADSL connection, so I added another card to my server and I'm looking for how-to use both of these connections  :)
Please share!
