I just upgraded to 7.1 from 6. I cannot get to the internet. I cannot get to the web interfaces of the server. I cannot get email.
I use dyndns.org. I have been using an account there for years. When I go there it shows my correct IP. When I do review configuration in server manager it shows the wrong IP.
How can I change the IP on the server gateway?
Thanks in advance.

If there is no keyboard and monitor attached to the box, connect with putty, and log in as admin and use the root password. From there you can change the configuration.
You may want to check out the manual, there is a section on configuration.

If you are seeing the server manager you should be able to "configure this server" and change the ip address or gateway etc. as required.

Are you sure the problem isn't the connection to your ISP? Changing a network card may require a reset .

I appreciate the responses. Here is what happens:
I enter:
db configuration setprop ExternalIP xx.xx.xx.xx
I get:
/sbin/e-smith/db dbfile setprop key prop1 val1 [prop2 val2] [prop3 val3] ...
I enter:
/sbin/e-smith/db configuration setprop ExternalIP xx.xx.xx.xx
I get:
/sbin/e-smith/db dbfile setprop key prop1 val1 [prop2 val2] [prop3 val3] ...
I have not changed the NIC.
I have checked the manual and that is where I got the above steps. I have searched forums and I have not seen anything I can use.

That's not true. You need to access the console menu, not server manager, to change network configuration. You do that by logging in as admin, either directly on the console, or via ssh/putty.
ashpenaz should diagnose the problem before trying to change anything.

After several attempts to resolve the issue (I did figure out how to change the IP) I decided to stop the agony and wipe out my server. The IP was only one of the issues I encountered after my upgrade...I had several HTTPD config errors, and no access to server-manager. The lesson I learned is to remove customizations before upgrading.
I have reinstalled and all is fine. Linux is interesting and the SME product is great. I would have loved to figure it out but this is my gateway to the world and a week of downtime was enough.
Thanks to all who responded and best wishes.
