it also takes ages to complete this, 1/2 hour or so
whats wrong?

Post by: mmccarn on June 11, 2007, 02:05:26 PM: The usual advice for yum errors is to run yum clean all to clean out your local cache of yum repo info and start over.

This post tells you which repositories you should have enabled (in case you've customized your yum configuration): http://wiki.contribs.org/SME_Server:Documentation:FAQ#Which_repositories_should_be_enabled

If you've been customizing your yum at all you could use the recommend defaults by running

yum --enablerepo=base \ --enablerepo=updates \ --enablerepo=smeaddons \ --enablerepo=smeos \ --enablerepo=smeupdates update

Post by: sandoz on June 12, 2007, 11:04:35 AM: seemed to work ok, but after 10 min or so, system load goes to 15, and the server is almost locked...commands are almost impossible to enter.
And that keeps running for ages, HD's are reading and writing like crazy

i have no idea what yum is doing..
