Title: Complete idiot?
Post by: Neririn on June 23, 2007, 09:53:15 PM
Ok, I have been away from SME server for over a year and hopefully I am just an idiot.  I downloaded the SMEServer 7.1 iso from the torrent and it boots fine, I type SME I select my language and keyboard then I am asked "What type of installation is this?" CDROM, Local HD, NFS Image, FTP, HTTP etc.  I select Local CD rom and ig comes back saying it cant find a the SME SERVER CD.  Isnt that what I just booted from?  It used to be a one disk install, has somehting changed?  I even downloaded a different iso from a different location same thing.  I read posts that say "Make sure you run the "Check media' option" but it never presents me with one.  Have I downloaded the wrong CD?

1.) Did you download smeserver.iso? Make sure that you didn't download a srpm CD.
2.) It's still a one disk install.
3.) Did you download from the official site?

Title: Hardware Error
Post by: Neririn on June 24, 2007, 12:35:31 AM
I appologize, this was caused by a faulty CDROM, it allowed me to boot, but could not read all of the disk, upon installing a different CDROM drive, install worked as expected.
