Title: E-mail Sever
Post by: ChicaneWeaver on March 15, 2002, 05:57:12 PM
When someone tries to send me an e-mail to my e-smith box they get this back

I don't allow unauthorized relaying. Please use another SMTP host to mail

How do i solve this problem??
Cheers

Does your SME server have an assigned domain name?  Attempts to send email to user@numericIP will fail.

okay:
Domain:
downtonsurgery.co.uk

IP:
62.3.68.213

E-mail:
charles.davies@downtonsurgery.co.uk

E-mail (that works):
Chazdav@hotmail.com

Using latest version of E-Smith

The box thinks its own name is InternetServ.downtonsurgery.co.uk.  You need to either change the name to the one used as the email address or add that as a 'virtual domain' so it will know it is supposed to accept it for local delivery.
