Title: LDAP connection for PHPGROUPWARE
Post by: tropicalview on July 10, 2007, 02:05:42 AM
I'm installing phpgroupware on my smeserver,
for you to know i'm a new player in the linux environment.....

I like to make use of the userdatabase of SME server to give access to PHPGROUPWARE.
As i understand that's possible via LDAP.

Does anybody know what i should answer to the following fields during the installation:

If using LDAP:

Do you want to manage homedirectory and loginshell attributes?:  No Yes
LDAP Default homedirectory prefix (e.g. /home for /home/username):
LDAP Default shell (e.g. /bin/bash):
LDAP host:
LDAP accounts context:
LDAP groups context:
LDAP rootdn:
LDAP root password:
LDAP encryption type:  DES MD5

Hi tropicalview,

SME Server does not store authentication information in LDAP, see also: http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=35146.0

So authentication against LDAP (also for PHPGroupware) is not possible.

Kind regards,
Jester.
