Title: daily update broke server

I just did a software update rebooted and now I cannot ping anywhere and other PC's cannot ping the server (7.1). The computer is used as a file server and not as a router. I can ping 127.0.0.1 on eth0 and ifconfig shows eth0 as up.

I checked dmesg and messages log and didn't find anything there (at least that I could see). Stumped.

ANy suggestions?

More info...

I checked route to make sure it had a gateway... yes
I restarted the network service and it all came up as OK

Cables checkout ok and they have the link lights on both ends.

signal-event post-upgrade ?
signal-event reboot ?

Done any of those?
