Title: Publishing to the root web server on SME 7.x?
Post by: hamdodger on July 22, 2007, 10:09:27 AM
I'm new to SME, so forgive this question if it's been asked before.

How do I gain access to be able to publish to the root of the http server on my new SME 7.x server?   I can see that the Primary i-bay has been created and I can create a single page "starter" webpage using the server manaer console but I want to be able to FTP into that root web directory so I can publish to http://www.mysmeserver.com and not to an subdirectory (i-Bay) such as http://www.mysmeserver.com/subsite.

All help is appreciated.

Connect using SCP(WinSCP) as root and place your files in the html directory in the primary iBay.

I'm unable to remotely connect using telnet, FTP, SCP, or any other remote protocol.  The SME Server refuses the connection.

However I CAN get into those shares via SMB now.   Any idea how I activate SCP/SFTP remote access?
