(First of all, thanks Charlie for your help with my bootdisk dilemma. Your advice gave me a place to look for the problem. Now im all up and running.)
Next problem...
My config:
Small company (5 workstations @192.168.0.1--5)
e-smith @192.168.0.253
I have a dialup connection thru a ISDN-router with dial-on-demand. @192.168.0.254
One dial-in PPP-connection (in router) @192.168.1.1
A domainname for email. All mail to one single mailbox at ISP.
I would like to use e-smith to split the mail into the mailboxes for the user accounts. I guess its Multi-drop i should use? Example: klas.ostman@ into mailbox for user klas.
I want all mail not having a correct recipient (mailinglists...) to be delivered to one specific account.
I guess this is quite easy to do already, but i cant find any scheduling option anywhere in the admin-menu. Is there a fixed collecting interval?
I want mail to be collected from ISP at regular intervals (30min--1h), except non office hours to keep cost down. Even better would be collecting at specified times (8am, 9am, 10am...)
How do i manage this. Do i add an entry in cron? I that case, what? Fetchmail?

Hi again,
I solved the problem,
I modified crontab to just collect mail at the times i want it to. Its working perfectly now. But in version 4...is there a way to to this thru the admin pages? Since im doing settings straight in the config files im afraid that if im doing any admin stuff things will be overwritten.

Yes, frequency of dialup and frequency of mail collection will be programmable in e-smith 4 - right down to never.
Yes, if you edit config files they will be overwritten some time in the future. Read the docs at http://www.e-smith.org/custom/ for instructions on customising your e-smith server/gateway.
