Post by: Allan Christensen on March 18, 2002, 12:58:52 AM

I've a well working CS server but my friends outside my own network can't see it. How do I grant acces to port 27015 through the firewall?

You will need to use Port Forwarding. You will need the RPM
"dmc-mitel-portforwarding-0.0.1-4.noarch.rpm"

Or, if you have enough horsepower on the SME box, run the Counter Strike server ON it, as spelled out in this very nice How-to:

BTW, it doesn't have to be very strong --- I ran a server on a K6-400 system, and it ran like a champ.  Linux handles the game server engine MUCH more efficiently than winbloze...

Thanx :)

Hum Allan, I would suggest that you run the cs from your sme box as Dan G says.

The only thing that have to be huge is the RAM :)

The average is 16Mb per player...

Good Luck !
