Title: user passwords
Post by: mort1504 on July 25, 2007, 10:07:23 PM
i have several (12) smeservers on a wide area network and am looking for a simple way to set user names and passwords so all servers are the same. the perferred option would be an automatic change that propagated down through the network, but if i need to copy files from one server to another it would be slower but would work. i have read through the forums and have seen several people asking for this but have yet found and answer. any help would be greatly appreciated. Would consider commercial solutions also. All smeserver are 7.13 but will be updated to 7.2 as soon as testing is finished.

Lot's of people would like this ability.
If you are prepared to pay, then I suggest you contact Charlie Brady or Gordon Rowell directly with a view to funding them to develop that capability (assuming they want to of course).

Gordons details are here (Gormand Pty Ltd):

You can contact Charlie via Gordon.

You could also post a message on the devinfo list, re the possibilities of having what you want done and the fact that you are willing to fund that development. Charlie & Gordon are subscribers to that list.
