Title: GPG.KEY error
Post by: seeblet on August 01, 2007, 04:14:15 AM
hi again,

i have an error (which i have done a search on this time  :?  and can't find any assistance) and was wondering if one of you may be able to assist please. we are getting this error:

>>>>

/etc/cron.daily/sa_update:

error: GPG validation failed!
The update downloaded successfully, but it was not signed with a trusted GPG
key.  Instead, it was signed with the following keys:

    24F434CE

Perhaps you need to import the channel's GPG key?  For example:

    wget http://spamassassin.apache.org/updates/GPG.KEY
    sa-update --import GPG.KEY

channel: GPG validation failed, channel failed

>>>>

Does this mean i type this at the command prompt?

    wget http://spamassassin.apache.org/updates/GPG.KEY
    sa-update --import GPG.KEY

thanks...

I have also received this error. My server has NO modifications, and I have always installed the updates as soon as they are available.

This GPG.KEY error has resulted in a substantial increase in SPAM being received.

Can somebody explain if this is a known error.

James

James,  there is a bug at the moment looking at this issue:
http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3206
If you can document that this error has resulted in substantial increase of spams, please fill a new bug report about it.  This is new and may be of interest to the Dev team.  Thanks.
