Situation:
I am using Microsoft Outlook for my clients and access the SME server using IMAP. I have checked the Mail Option of "When deleting messages, move them to your Trash folder instead of marking them as deleted?", which is under Deleting and Moving Messages of SME Webmail option.
The result required is those deleted mails will not be marked with strikethrough, instead will be moved to Trash folder automatically rather than manually.
Problem:
The above configuration is only applicable in Webmail but not in Microsoft Outlook. Emails deleted in Microsoft Outlook is still marked with strikethrough :!: Is there any solution to move the deleted emails in Outlook to Trash folder automatically :?:
Thank you!

All setting in webmail in the setting for Horde webmail only. It doesn't work for SME. When you using IMAP. it deleted email by marked with strikethrough is normally. The other way is set outlook to don't display deleted message and set purge deleted email when leaved folder.

Thanks for your suggestion barame
I have tried the purging at Outlook. Emails are able to be hid from Outlook, however the deleted emails (deleted at Outlook) are still appear as strikethrough at webmail (IMAP).
I am considering IMAP rather than POP3 as I want to centralise the control of emails mainly for backup purpose; although only minor users are using webmail. Is there any way to make the SME server to delete those strikethrough emails (deleted at Outlook) automatically, rather than using the Purge deleted mail at Outlook manually.
Hope anyone can assist me on this. Thank you :)

You will need to search the Outlook documentation, or ask in a Microsoft related forum. SME server will only delete (purge) the emails when the mail client asks it to. So you will need to configure Outlook to automatically purge messages when you delete them (or when you close the folder, if that is what you prefer).
IOW, your question doesn't really have much to do with SME server.

If your not tied down to Outlook try Thunderbird ... it doesn't show the deleted files and purges when you exit.
