Title: Samba/Windows Printer Spooling
Post by: daniel on August 02, 2007, 11:56:43 PM
First - I love SME Servers.  What a great product.  That being said I've spent all day on an issue that I need the forum's help with.

I've added two printers in the server-manager.  Once I print to the printers through indows XP Home or PRO workstations, the print spool jobs show as "Printed" but they never get deleted.  I can manually delete them through Windows Network Places in \\smeserver\Printers & Faxes\ {printername}.  or I can putty in and do a "lprm -P{printername}" and delete the jobs there.

According to Samba.org
Samba invokes the print command to hand the file over to the UNIX print subsystem's spooling area.
The UNIX print subsystem processes the print job.
The print file may need to be explicitly deleted from the Samba spooling area. This item depends on your print spooler configuration settings.

Is there a custom template I can apply to the print spooler configuration setting to auto delete a job after printed?
