Title: horde mimp workaround
Post by: Mace on August 11, 2007, 12:22:59 AM
I finally got mimp working reliably on my SME 7.2. Just though I'd share this for anyone else having trouble with mimp.

I was searching and reading around the forums here trying to get mimp to work with horde. I ran across a couple of posts that said that the wap login would come up fine but redirect you to the regular web login after the user/pass was put in.

This happened to me as well. However, I noticed that after i accidentally tried to log in with incorrect credentials it would work the second time i tried and I was able to browse and compose email with mimp's wap interface. There must be something wrong with the redirect when loggin in at /webmail with a wap device.

I now log in at http://my.domain.here/horde/mimp rather than http://my.domain.here/webmail and it works perfectly every time.

On a second note, to configure your mimp settings log into webmail as usual with a web browser, then go to http://my.domain.here/horde/services/prefs.php?&app=mimp

Re opening this post

I just installed the mimp using the instructions found on the wiki.contribs

It appears to install ok, but I'm not sure if it's working or not.

I don't remember what my horde looked like from my mobile login before I installed mimp.

I get nothing from www.mysite.com/horde/mimp or http://.mysite.com/horde/mimp or https:same.

I just get 404 Not Found
The requested URL /horde/mimp was not found on this server.

But my www.mysite.com/webmail still works perfectly and also no www.mysite.com/webmail/mimp

Supposedly the mimp is suppose to know if I login with mobile device when simply going to my webmail.

But I really don't know. I mean I'm not sure what mimp is suppose to look like from the mobile device or if I really do have it installed properly.

Please advise if anyone knows about this subject.

Thanks to all.

I would like to try this out as well, however when I perform:
Code: [Select]
yum --enablerepo=smedev install smeserver-mimp
I get:

Has the contrib been removed?

HI,

You know I've never noticed that but I think mine said the same thing on installation and I didn't pay attention to it, cause I installed the Oscommerce stuff and also the forums and thought I was seeing the same messages, but I could be wrong.

It is a great question though I would like to know this answer as well.

Otherwise I want to install it somehow if it's not already installed.

When I use the wiki.contribs method to detect mimp I don't get anything either so perhaps I don't have it installed and that would explain why I get page not found when trying to login to www.mysite.com/horde/mimp etc.

Thanks for any help on this subject

Hi Agent86

Did you manage to get the Mimp Contrib to Install? If so how did you do it.

There was an error in the wiki installation instructions, I corrected it, please try again from the top.

I followed the instructions from the wiki, and now updated per cactus, but I'm not sure it it's working or not.

I logged in with a mobile device etc. but I don't know what it's suppose to look like.

Anyhow it did install and appears to be installed according to my logs etc.
