Title: standard new profile
Post by: tropicalview on August 13, 2007, 03:52:32 PM
Dear all,

Is it possible to place a standard profile for every new user.

I would like to set the following value's to the roming profiles when new accounts are created:

1 proxy setttings
2 standard bookmarks
3 standard home page
4 standard shortcuts on desktops.

and perhaps some more.

Is it possible to place a template profile that will be copied when new accounts are created?

Kind regards,

Hendrik

I believe the default profile is kept somewhere in /home/e-smith/files/e-smith/skel.

Thanks for your fast reponce.

the folder /home/e-smith/files/e-smith/skel does not exists.
I searched a little in the folder /home/e-smith/

but could not find something like that.

Does anybody know it there is a standard profile?

I guess the latter is copied by default, but I am not totally sure. As I have no physical access to a SME Server I can not give you the answer right now, maybe in an hour or two. I'll have to investigate a little more.

hi
if you are talking about roaming profiles then ut's not a Sme's issue but a windows one..

search for poledit (it does not work with ms vista) and google for custom domain user profile.

ciao
