Title: PBX hardware.
Post by: tropicalview on August 14, 2007, 05:52:55 PM
Dear all,

for the SME server with Trixbox installation i'm thinking to buy the following hardware:

Polycom sound point ip 320
audiocodes mediapack mp118/fxo

does anybody have good / bad experience with these devices?
how is the quality (durability) of the polycom phones?

Kind regards,

Hendrik

Hi,

Polycom phones are great.  Very high quality and great audio and speakerphones.

I don't know about the Audiocodes FXO unit.  I've used Mediatrix 1204's and Digium TDM04B cards.  I prefer the TDM04B cards...

I like the SAIL contrib from Selintra.  Those guys are great.

Hi,

In de meantime i bought this hardware already.
and it's working now for a week, and the thing i can say about the Polycom phones indeed great product.

for the ones who like to buy FXO boxes i do not recommend the Audiocodes FXO,
the product it self looks great, and works fine as far as i implemented as yet (only outgoing upto now, and only one line)

the reason why i do not recommend is because of the poor documentation and support.
the product is even not known at the site of audiocodes itself.

I can also recommand polycom phones. I'm just playing with IP650 and they are just great. voice quality is very good, and the config deployment works great (I'm writting a how-to on this, should be available soon).
I use it with the smeserver-trixbox package
