Title: Failure typing "smei586" instead of "sme" - fresh install
Post by: Elluminatus on August 14, 2007, 09:42:51 PM
Hello forum!

Do you think it is a problem when i started the installation by typing smei586 (which was a failure) because I own a Pentium III. Might there problems later when I want to update to version 8 (i586 is no longer supported there) or might there problems with the speed or anything else?

I know I made a failure and I´m thinking about formating and reloading the sme server stuff. Because it is a fresh system and at this point it is okay.

Please help me..

Greetings E.

Please report any problems that could be a potential bug to the bug tracker. Thanks.

I don´t think that this is a bug. It´s my fault. I only want to know if this maybe a bad solution for the further "life" of the server or if there is a lost of performance or things like that.

Greetings E.

Ah sorry, thats what speed reading does

Yes if using i586 that would mean you could never upgrade to sme 8 and would have to stick on the latest 7.x at that time, also remember that because based on RHEL mean we have a longer update term so may not be too bad, depends on how you wanted to go.
