Howdy,
I've got 2 SME's running two different domains email services. I'm finding that it's a waste of a box that could be used elsewhere since the 2nd one is only running as an email server and has relatively few addresses.
I've done a search to see if anyone's done this before and am not finding anything. I'm guessing I've got to make new users and add a domain on the Box I'm keeping but what order should things be done in and when I do get it setup, is there a way to migrate the mailboxes without forcing the users to manually move their folders?
Thanks,
E

I used a product called Symphony IMAP to do this...
Worked well and it's free download...
Find searching Google...
-
1. Create the 2nd domain as a 'virtual domain' on the main server
2. Create the missing users on the main server
3. Use symphony (as suggested), imapcopy, or another method to copy the existing email to the main server (if you're using imap or webmail)
4. (optional) configure the 2nd server to use the main server as an "internal" mail server - now all email should be delivered to the main server (albeit still going through the 2nd server)
5. test
6. reconfigure your email clients to download their email from the main server
7. once all clients are reconfigured, reconfigure your firewall, dns, whatever to have all email delivered directly to the main server.
These instructions assume direct smtp delivery to your SME boxes - some changes will be required if you're using fetchmail on one or both boxes...
