Title: What Happens If I Do This....??

Hi Guy's,

At the moment my server is running Server 2003. I want to put SME 7.2 back onto it. It's only a normal PC which I use as a home server and a web server. It use to have a 40GB hard drive, but recently I installed another hard drive onto the Slave rail and it is a 120GB. Therefore I now have a 40GB hard drive which is the primary one and a 120GB secondary drive.

I looked on the raid page and noticed that if two drives are installed, SME will use Raid 1. But my two hard drives are different sizes. So what will happen when I install SME back onto my server??

you will have a 40GB install software raid, the rest of the slave cant be used.

I would disconnect the slave, install SME,  (no raid) connect the slave and mount it to whatever, so you have 120GB free space

There's a HowTo on the wiki about adding an extra hard disk.

There is a better and less difficlt method suggested on the talk page, of before mentioned page which has always been present in SME Server AFAIK (see http://wiki.contribs.org/index.php?title=Talk:AddExtraHardDisk)

I'll give those articles a read before I install the new Hard Drive :D :D
