Anyone have a shell script to join an Ubuntu (feisty) machine to SME? Any fool proof solutions? I've tried whats posted in the forums and had problems.

There is a solution in the forums which you probably have found. It is reported to work, so a solution is there. Please specify what you did and where in the process what error occurred. Perhaps someone can help you out...
Saying that things do not work and not specifying what you did does not give us much clues on where to help you.
As the suggestion in the forums is reported to work I do not think someone developed another method let alone that there are multiple methods do a domain join action.
Concluding: please look for the thread where you found the solution you tried and ask your question there specifying what you did and what errors you received at what stage in the instruction. Good luck!

I already posted about that in the forum. The solution worked but it broke Synaptic Package Manager and caused a few other anomalies. Another person has posted with the same errors. I didn't want to beat a dead horse.
What I'm looking for is another solution.
I wouldn't have thought that getting a linux client to log into a linux server would be difficult.

Troy,
You made a mistake in the way you posted. You probably should have used the old thread and just updated it.... or if you must start a new thread... please reference the old one.
Asking the same question a second time w/o giving us background on what you already tried is a bad idea.
I was trolling the forums looking for people to help and I'd really like to help, but you didn't give me enough information.
