Title: smb.conf Charset impact on existing files ???

I fix this morning a "BIG" problem that I get for a couple of month !!! :-P :-P :-P

So the problem I get before I change my setting in SMB.CONF was with Charset (french like ééé ààà ççç) AND with FTP (ProFTP)

So when a user put a file or create a directory on my FTP server like (école) the file was changed for _cole in the Windows Share...
And when I create the file from Windows Samba share same problem when I want to view the file...

So now my problem was fixed with those settings:

smb.conf

display charset = ISO-8859-1
dos charset = 863 (was changed from 850 to 863)
unix charset = ISO-8859-1 (was changed from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1)

BUT my question is:

All change made can impact any fonction for SME Server (Samba, Website) or existing file ???

Now, I just want to know if I can leave this settings... Before I create my templates...

It seems another post of me got lost... so here it is again:

My advice is to report this in the bugtracker (perhaps as a NFR). My guess is your server is configured with a French locale, and subsequently should handle special characters native to the French language. As the development team do not read all topics your remark or solution has the best change to be picked up when entered in the bug tracker.

This bug is unconfirmed and need to be confirmed by other users experiencing the same problem, unfortunately I do not have a test server to do so at the moment. So other users with the same problem or a test server please confirm bug 3423 (http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3423).
