I am trying to install Quickbooks Linux Database Server Manageron a test SME 7.2 box and it is complaining about a missing libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.4). I have doen some searching on how to correct this, and have failed. Can any one point me in the proper direction?
Required packages for the software are as follows:
gamin-.1.7-7.fc6 (Fedora)
glibc-2.5-3
libgcc-4.1.1-30
libstdc++-4.1.1-30
or am I wasting my time trying to do this?
TIA
Bob

SME8 (Currently in alpha) (based on CentOS5) appears to have all the required versions that you need.
If this is a test and you feel adventurous you can load SME8 on a test server and give it a try.
Don't forget to report any bugs against SME8 in the bug tracker.
Remember, SME8 is ALPHA so don't use in production :-)

Thanks Paul,
The problem is that it is currently a production machine, and Quickbooks is a pain in the a** when trying to set it up in a linux network environment.

Bob,
another option: Setup VMware on your SME7 and install SME8 as a virtual machine (to host the QuckBooks database).
This would buy you time till SME8 gets released (hopefully).

Intuit have only released one build of their software, and it's not build for RedHat Enterprise Linux 4 (or CentOS4, or SME server 7.2.
The QuickBooks Database Server has been verified on Fedora 7 (open source Linux from RedHat)
and Open SUSE 10.2 (open source Linux from Novell). Verification for additional distributions of
Linux is currently in progress.
