Hi
The cleaners just knocked the power switch for my e-smith server, now when it boots I get the following message
Inode 191617 has imagic flag set
/: Unexpected Inconsistency; Run fsck manually
(ie without -a or -p options)
*** An error occured during file system check
***Dropping you to a shell; the sytem will reboot when you leave the shell
Give root password for maintenance
(or type Control-D for normal startup)
Giving the root password takes me to
(repair filesystem)1#
However I have no idea on what to do next. Any help would be appreciated.
Please post here as the e-smith server is my mail server so I'm not receiving any mail
Thanks
Ross

Thanks for the help, however I bit the bullet and have redone the server, hopefully not losing too much e-mail
Thanks

It's: "fsck /"
Then answer yes to all the questions.
Then type "reboot" to reboot the server.

The last time I answered "yes" to all the questions it deleted links between the server-manager and files so no users or ibays showed up in the server manager. I don't know if the ext3 file system will eventually resolve this problem or if there is a better way. I've already lost one server...
