I have been using Darrell May's smeserver-dar2 contrib successfully on several servers and I noticed the following new files at:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/smeserver/contribs/dmay/smeserver/7.x/ (http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/smeserver/contribs/dmay/smeserver/7.x/)
dar-2.3.4-1.i386.rpm
dar-2.3.5-1.el4.sme.i386.rpm
libdar-2.3.5-1.el4.sme.i386.rpm
I have updated dar-2.3.2-1.i386.rpm to dar-2.3.4-1.i386.rpm but am not sure about the other files.
Have searched but can't find any mention in forum or on contrib section of wiki.

These are the latest build of dar on SME and are just copies from the 7.2/smetest repository:
dar-2.3.5-1.el4.sme.i386.rpm
libdar-2.3.5-1.el4.sme.i386.rpm
They work just fine with my contrib but were actually built to support e-smith-backup-1.15.0-04.el4.sme.noarch.rpm. See http://bugs.contribs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3373

So I assume I can remove dar-2.3.4-1.i386.rpm
and install dar-2.3.5-1.el4.sme.i386.rpm and libdar-2.3.5-1.el4.sme.i386.rpm (not essential) and just update from the smetest repository. (eventually they will move from test to stable and I can forget about manual updates)
or would you recommend I stick to dar-2.3.4-1.i386.rpm and update from your contribs page if you add a new version?
I just want to keep up to date with minimal hassles.
BTW I have not tried "e-smith-backup" as your contrib has worked perfectly for me in the past.
Thanks

I have been using your excellent backup contrib all the way thru SME 7 ... I have just completed the latest (4/19/2008) updates and the server manager panel got all screwed ... it would appear to have been created by your contrib now not being compatible with the latest updates as when I removed smeserver-dar2 all returned to normal.
Are you able to confirm this to be the case and do you have an update available.

There should be a version in the SME Contribs repository (by now):
yum update smeserver-dar2 --enablerepo=smecontribs
