I had the nut ups working nicely in sme 7.2 with the Model = usbhid-ups. (I tried using Model = newusbhid in the past, nut could never find a "newusbhid" driver - maybe I'm missing a file?)
Anyway, I just installed the latest sme updates via the server-manager (which included: Updated: e-smith-nutUPS.noarch 1.2.0-15.el4.sme), and after restarting, nut is not able to communicate with the ups.
I tried following the steps from other forum posts about setting Model = newusbhid, and expanding templates, but that didn't work (which was no surprise since that setting wasn't happy before).
I have an APC Back-UPS RS 1500 connected via USB cable. Here's the lsusb output:

Email messages I'm getting look like this:
UPS UPS@localhost is unavailable
Also: # upsc UPS@localhost
Error: Driver not connected
From system log: Oct 9 00:11:11 rocosme upsmon[4147]: Poll UPS [UPS@localhost] failed - Driver not connected

I couldn't figure out how to "downgrade" via yum to an earlier sme/nut package version (and I'm not sure if that is safe to do, if at all possible).
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Dan
