Title: Firewall blocked due to Asterisk rpm ?
Post by: arne on October 09, 2007, 04:21:58 PM
I have posted this question in the general support forum, which might not be the right place, so I try here.

I installed a fresh new SME 7.2 Then Restored some datas from the old server and I installed the Selintra Asterisk RPM (Without the configuration panel.)

I used some of the oldest Asterisk alternatives 1.2.something.

After installing everything and checked out that the Asterisk server worked in a quite exelent way, I noticed that this was the only server function that worked and that all other server functions were blocked for access from web.

Until now I have fixed this problem by flushing out the SME firewall and applied a my own new firewall configuration script.

Does anynone know if there is any firewall issue releated to running some older Asterisk RPM's on the SME 7.2 ?? (I wonder if I saw aome notice only applicable for SME 7.0 when I made the installation  .. don't know.)

Would be interested in all info that could enlighten the problem in some way.

Hi Arne,

You don't say which rpm you used.  It shouldn't change anything on the SME server firewall, except that it will open 5060 4569 and 10000-2000 UDP.

Early versions didn't even open the ports.

Kind Regards

S

Thanks for info !

Hmm .. then I think I have to sustpect my own data restore ..

The version of the asterisk and zaptel I am using is the "oldest of the newest", that mean the oldest of the ones that is on your official download page, now today.
