Apparently, I broke my 7.2 server during installing mISDN to get my Eicon BRI server card running.
With this installation the kernel (modules) where patched and the "standard" make modules, make modules install stopped in error. (target....)
Now the server is not able to load his NIC drivers anymore!
Tried to rebuild the kernel but;
- newer rpm build and config is required
- installing rpm build and config requires a network connection
- these rpm's require too much dependicies
Please help ... I'm running out of creative suggestions and possible solutions....

You should be able to see a list of old kernels available if you interrupt the boot sequence on the physically-attached SME console.
Otherwise, you could try the 'rescue mode' from the SME 7.2 install CD, or you could try reinstalling using the SME 7.2 iso.

But is it possible to do that without a development environment installed on the server ?
(If that should be the case, se my post about installing such an environment.)

mmccarn, Thanks... it's running again... I'm running it now on the SMP kernel.
Sometimes the solution is 'right under your nose'. I will try my little experiment another time on another machine...
Arne, you're right. I tried it, but needed the rebuild en config (development) rpm's and they where asking for a bunch of other development rpm's. Installing without NIC's and without an Internet connection is a bit difficult.
Thanks for the quick replies...
