How do I Install Mediawiki standard edition on SMEServer ?

ISSUED FOR DOCUMENTATION PURPOSES AND LATER REFFERENCE ONLY.

There is a Contrib for this but for some reasons there might be an alternative to use the standard edition as well.

(To run many installations on one server might be more easy with the standard edition of Mediawiki (??) )

I first tried to install the newest Wikimedia. Did not work as it required PHP5.

Then made the next try downloading Wikimedia 1.6.10

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Download

It would first not install due to a missing root password for the MySQL database.

(I tried the admin acount, but it did not work.)

I then just made a new superuser account via the phpmyadmin program and the installation went stright in.

There were no need to create an empty database first.

The mediawiki installation script created a new database automatically.

Something about a configuration file I had to move but I forgot to write it down. Will revise this info in next time.
