I just want to confirm something here...if I want to access my POP3 mail from a remote location I should set up my router to forward port 110 right? If 'm wrong could someone please let me know or confirm if I am right? Thanks!

In order to get that mail on to your mail server you have to forward port 25 as well -
ports 25 & 110 needs to be forwareded to your mail server also if ldap is used, 143. These are non secure (SSL) ports though.

Trbonja

If you have your own email server behind the firewall, you would forward ports 25 and 110 to that email server.
Port forwarding is for inbound traffic - not outbound. You dont forward if all you're doing is getting mail from some email server on the web.
