Title: logging into the admin console
Post by: misnerspace on October 18, 2007, 04:59:14 AM
Hi All,

For some reason when I log into the admin console (on the actual production box)it seems to open for a split micro second and then close so I am then presented with the login prompt again. Logging in under root poses no problem. When I do change the admin password (albeit rarely) I do this via the server-manager remotely. I have updated recently, apart from that I can't seem to work out what's causing the problem. Any ideas would be most appreciated!

thanks

this is what the logs say

Oct 18 11:47:51 server7 login(pam_unix)[4871]: session opened for user admin by LOGIN(uid=0)
Oct 18 11:47:52 server7  -- admin[4871]: LOGIN ON tty1 BY admin
Oct 18 11:47:52 server7 login(pam_unix)[4871]: session closed for user admin

Here's a bug report that looks similar - but it doesn't look like they've solved it yet:

Please report your issue to the bug ticket (if you haven't already) you maybe able to provide missing information. Thanks.
