Hi, due to a rogue virus that queued 800+ emails, we tried to delete the mail queue /var/qmail/queue/mess/* and recreate them. This caused problems with the permissions. I have copied the permissions off a lab machine, but all mail into the queue is then "owned" by root instead of qmailq. I saw a post with a similar problem that suggested a cron job to chown the files. I tried to manually chown them, but now get a message of
@400000004721c36d2c2114bc status: local 1/10 remote 0/20
@400000004721c36d2d2ecf84 delivery 60: deferral: forward:_fatal:_qq_trouble_creating_files_in_queue_(#4.3.0)/
Is there any way to uninstall qmail and reinstall so that the file permissions and struture is correct?

Wow, I don't believe that this question was asked before with exactly the same subject. Sorry to waste your time. (I spent about 4 hours looking for an answer before posting)
