Title: Awstats accesss from external
Post by: guest1618 on October 27, 2007, 09:45:21 PM
I have tried unsuccessfully to give a couple of people access their website stats from outside the local network and i have looked here but found no discussion about this. I'd like to create a panel to do this if it's possible. Is there a way of giving people outside access to specific domain stats?

You could try and use the dungog userpanel(s) with which you can delegate pages of the server-manager that you desire to certain users or groups, have a look at http://www.dungog.net for it.

You can also specify in the server manager awstats panel, which (sme user) groups can access stats for which domain, this is then enforced when users login to user manager, and they are restricted to see stats for the domains they have access to, based on their group membership.

Thanks for the replies. I have dungog panels installed but they are only available on the local network. Maybe I was unclear. I host several domains, web and email. Most are little more than vanity sites but three are commercial. No ecommerce but a few pages of info and a formmail page. Most of the users are not local and none of the users who I want to have access to the stats are local. I don't want to have them tunnel into the server, that's too technical and is access I'm not particularly comfortable with.

Am I missing something, is the user panel available outside the local network via a webpage?

If the users have static IP's you can add them to remote access panel
/user-manager is accessible same way as /server-manager

Use VPN, it's very easy & simple to use.
