hello everyone,
Can anyone help me? I'm trying to connect my W2K Wormstation to my esmith server which is a Domain master. I didn't have any troubles doing it with NT 4.0, but with W2K, I just get error messages.
Does anybody have any experience with this?
Thanks a lot!!

What sort of error messages are you seeing? It's difficult to speculate without more details.

Sorry, that's true...I'll try to translate them into English, since I'm using a German version of W2K.
**********
While trying to connect to the domain "XYZ", the following error occured:
The given login information are in conflict with the system's login information.
**********
What I did was the following: Right click on "My Computer" - Properties - Networkidentification - Properties; there I selected "Domain" and entered the name of my domain; next I entered my login information for a user which has an account on my e-smith server. Then I got this error msg; I even tried with several other users (e.g. root, admin, ...) but I always get the same error message. Is there any special user I have to use to get my W2K workstation into my domain?
Thanks for your help.
I appreciate it greatly.

This might help depending on your problem
http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=12733.msg47845#msg47845
v4.1.2 did not support win2k domain logon without some adjustments to sme, there is a HOWTO on this at e-smith.org
v5.1.2 does support w2k domain logons (I'm not sure about the in between releases v5.0 etc)
There have been a few enquiries on the forum about this, do a search

Simon,
You might also get a similar message (maybe it's the same except the words hot changed in the translation from German to English) about existing credentials conflicting with the supplied credentials.
This happens when your already have connections to the shares on the SME server when you try to join the Domain. If so, you will need to disconnect all shares first (open command prompt and type NET USE * /DELETE)
