Title: Unable to access remote POP server
Post by: akhilmathema on November 20, 2007, 04:45:12 AM
Hi,
I've installed a new SME 7.2 Systems as a gateway and server. But I'm unable to connect remote POP server from my workstation. There was not any problem with older SME systems. Is there any additional rules that I need to define?
Regards,
Akhil

SME does not block traffic from your LAN workstations to external POP servers by default.

It will intercept outbound web (http, https) and SMTP traffic by default, and allow all other traffic to pass untouched.

Thanks for the information.
Actually, I'm using ADSL Pulsar card as an external device (alias nas0) and /etc/rc.d/init.d/masq was pointing to eth1 as external device. Once it was fixed, everything is normal.
Thankyou again
Cheers,
